Blog Post #13 - common themes of dramas

In my 13th blog post i will be doing research on commonly found themes in genres. Specifically, the drama genre. When u think of drama you most likely think of relationships, love, conflict, and something bad such as a breakup. Knowing this as the commonly found theme in dramas i want to implement something like this into my short film of drama.  With this being in my film will allow the audience to have a good grasp on what the genre is but also what is happening in the plot.

While researching the commonly found themes in the genre of drama i found that there are many different themes. These can be stereotyping people, change of power, change verse tradition, capitalism, drugs, and bullying. IN my film I'm going to use the theme of stereotyping most likely because when people think of domestic violence, they always seem to assume the man is doing the violence. So, going along with that the theme of drama im going to be using is drama is stereotyping but also want to use the theme of power. Power in this case would be mentally and physically. From the source Writing about Drama - Themes, Plots, and Characterization | English Syllabus Guru its states an example of theme of power "In William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, for example, the theme of power is central to the play’s plot and characters. Macbeth’s desire for power leads him to commit murder and ultimately leads to his own downfall". With this also being a good theme of drama films I'm also going to use this to my advantage.
