Blog post #8 - stereotype

 Hello, in todays blog post i will be talking about the stereotype in domestic violence. There are many different stereotypes in the world with every type of topic. When u think of domestic violence the first thing that pops up is probably a big strong man taking advantage of his partner. This is the most common stereotype when it comes to anything like domestic violence. This is not always true, anyone can be the victim of domestic violence. With my previous research in my last blog post about case study i found many cases where the stereotype isnt always right. I gave an example of this with the Dwane Haskins domestic violence case.

This stereotype is most common because its what's most talked about, in the new and media platforms when you hear or read about domestic violence its mainly a man having the power. This is how many stereotypes are started, this causes people to believe this is only way it happens, or women can't do it to men. This is why stereotypes can be dangerous because it makes u think different and only believe in one side of the problem. With knowing this information about stereotypes, I will be able to implement them into my film where the viewer will be able to understand.
