Blog post #18 - how sound impacts a scenes theme

 Throughout this blog i will be informing you guys along the way as i research about sound impacting the theme of a shot/ scene. This blog post will go hand in hand with the blog post i made "sound study". Sounds play a huge role in the media scenery. Sound also effects what you see and how its portrayed. An example of this could be someone walking through a hallway, and if there is creepy music playing you would be more likely to think a jump scare is going to pop out, or something huge is going to happen. On the other hand, if you have more of a friendly non scary manner pf music then u would think like the battle is over. This reminds me of movies like guardian of the galaxy and avengers where when the hero's win they play this time of celebration music to also let the viewers have a better understanding how the characters are feeling.

This is one-way sound is used in films, but another way is with sound effects. Sound effects let viewers have the ability to see what's happening on the screen and off of it. Things like this that would occur on screen could be like two characters talking in a two shot, or a shot of a club and music playing in the background. On the other hand, there can be sounds that are off the screen, example of this found in many films are like two characters in a room fighting and you hear the punches or things along that line. With my research it helped me think of ways i can use sound in my film.
